CLEANSING THE SACRED VESSELS AFTER MASS
The first name listed on any Mass schedule for Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion will have an asterisk (*) behind it. The (*) designates this person to be assigned to also clean the sacred vessels after Mass in the Sacristy. If you are unable to fulfill this assignment, please find a volunteer to perform this very important task in your place.
When cleansing the Ciboriums, please make sure no particles of Precious Body remain in them before they are rinsed and washed. Please also make sure no Precious Blood remains in the Chalices.
The bowl in which we rinse our fingers after distributing the Host must be poured down the Sacrarium (sink) on the right side of the sink basin to remove any particles of Host that may linger in it. After eliminating the used water in this bowl, refill it about half full with water and return it to the credence table.
